Photography, for me, lies at the intersection of art and science. As a meteorologist by trade and a photographer at heart, I set out to document that moment where the laws of nature meet the expression of the sublime: the building mass of the storm, the fragile iridescence of a water droplet, the graceful symmetry of the lily.
We often forget that we ourselves are part of nature, feeling the paradox between the neverending constancy that governs our day to day lives and the seemingly random events that spring up moment to moment. We are simultaneously uniform and unique.

Photographs can allow us to see the deep details of this paradox. They stop time long enough for us to attempt to absorb its meaning. And, best of all, they celebrate the sheer beauty of science and art walking hand in hand.
